Code 3 Concepts LLC was founded by Alexander Dunn. Mr. Dunn served as a Police Officer in Illinois for over a decade. During his law enforcement career, he served as a Firearms Instructor, Assistant Defensive Tactics Instructor, Immediate Trauma Care Instructor, and Evidence Technician.
While working full-time as a police officer, he attended the DePaul University College of Law and earned his Juris Doctor. He also holds a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Elmhurst University. He trained as an EMT-B at Triton Community College.
As an attorney, he has represented police officers involved in on and off duty shootings, federal use of force investigations, and use of force incidents investigated by state and local agencies. He brings those practical experiences to his teaching. He currently serves as the President of the Illinois Council of Police union, representing police officers throughout Illinois. He is also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, serving on their Legislative and PAC Committee.
Mr. Dunn combines his experiences to bring complex legal principles to his students in a way that is engaging and easy to understand. As a career patrol officer, Mr. Dunn provides training that officers can put to work immediately in their duties, from "mundane" calls to critical incidents. He is certified by ILETSB to instruct in the areas of; Use of Force, Firearms, and Immediate Trauma Care.
